About Nobby the Sweep
I’m actually called Paul but go by the name Nobby the Sweep. I started sweeping chimneys when I found it increasingly difficult to find a sweep who would fit in with my schedule. I have undertaken full training and have a City and Guilds qualification and environment certificate.
I have trained to power sweep using the most modern equipment or can use more traditional methods if required. I take all the appropriate dust control measures to ensure your home stays clean. I can also polish the glass on stoves and re-rope them if required.
UK fire statistics show that each year, on average, over 30,000 houses have chimney fires; this will be largely due to not getting the chimney swept often enough or burning fuel that is inappropriate for the appliance and that causes tar to build up in the chimney. Most insurance companies will no longer pay out for claims made due to chimney fires unless the chimney has been swept by a professional chimney sweep and a valid certificate of sweeping issued that is recognised by insurance companies. If the fire and rescue service is called out to a chimney fire and it is proven that it has not been properly maintained, then the local council may bill you for the call out and that will be expensive.
Chimney fires cannot only destroy homes but also endanger the occupiers of the dwelling. Before lighting your fire – get the chimney swept. . .

Prices and Payment
There is a wide variation in what is required on any job, because of fire place types, fire types and the number of floors the chimney extends over. Any prices here would be misleading and that’s why there aren’t any. Just give me a call and I’ll come and give you a free quote.
We take cards, cash, bank transfers and cheques (I did take 3 bottles of Jack Daniels once too).
What my customers say
Nice clean flue ~ Give me a review
Anybody can say how good they are at their job but the true reflection is what their clients think. Prospective customers will place more trust in a customer’s review than anything I say. So if you could spare 5 minutes to give me a review I will be very grateful – by the way you’ll need a Google account; stops any Tom, Dick or Harriet from writing rubbish.
Legend has it that when King George III reigned in England the king was riding his horse through the streets of London.
All of a sudden a dog starts barking. and startles the King’s horse causing the horse to panic and become out of control.
A chimney sweeper was the only one brave enough to hurry out from the crowd and got hold of the horse. He managed to calm the frightened horse; saving the King’s life.
King George III was extremely grateful and announced that from that day forward all chimney sweepers were to be considered auspicious and demanded they be treated with respect.
Ever since that episode chimney sweeps have been a sign of good luck in England.
